ONE MORE DIES WITH CORONAVIRUS AS 118 TEST POSITIVE
MORE than 110 new coronavirus cases were recorded across Derbyshire in the latest 24-hour period, according to Government figures released yesterday.
There were 117 new cases of coronavirus across the county, with 28 in Derby and 89 across Derbyshire.
One Covid-19 related death was recorded in a Derbyshire hospital, according to NHS England statistics.
The highest number of new cases across Derbyshire was found in Derby, where 28 positive tests were returned.
The Government said a further 104 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 122,953. It is the lowest daily figure since October 26, when there were 102 further deaths.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 143,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
The Government also said that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 5,455 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,182,009.
