THE Lady Boys of Bangkok are set to return to Derby this summer with rescheduled dates.

Their new show, Flight of Fantasy, was due to arrive in the city in late March but it has now been pushed back again due to the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown.

The touring pink Sabai Pavilion Theatre is set to go up on Cathedral Green in July, with exact dates to be confirmed over the next few weeks.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok are well known for their cabaret-style music and comedy performances. They first entered the UK scene in 1998 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Their upcoming shows will include performers acting as pop icons Destiny’s Child, Shania Twain, Little Mix and the Pussycat Dolls.

Meanwhile, new dates have also been announced for two shows which were due to take place at Derby Arena in June.

Derby Live, ticket agent for the shows, has confirmed they have been rescheduled because of the use of the arena as a Covid-19 vaccination centre.

Whitney, Queen of the Night, a celebration of the music of Whitney Houston, was due to go ahead on Thursday, June 3, but has now been rescheduled to Saturday, March 5, 2022.

While The Elvis Tribute Artist World Tour has moved from Wednesday, June 30 to Thursday, October 14.

A spokesperson for Derby Live said: “Tickets will automatically be transferred to the new date, with the option of a full refund if this date is unsuitable. If you did not purchase your ticket through Derby Live, please contact your ticket provider.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these postponements, and would like to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

“We are continuing to follow Government guidance around live performances and will provide any further updates as soon as we can.”
