Daher boost with contract and business park move
AN international aerospace business has spoken of its continued success after agreeing to move into a regeneration site in Derbyshire.
Daher Aerospace, which has a presence in 13 countries around the world, recently agreed to open a branch of the business at Markham Vale on junction 29A of the M1.
The news coincides with the company being awarded a lucrative contract with Alstom in Derby, which is building new monorail lines in Cairo.
Around 23 new jobs are expected to be created by the firm, which is making use of a ready-built 55,000 square foot industrial warehouse already located onsite.
Michael Betteridge, at Daher Aerospace, said: “Following our success in being awarded a new logistics contract, the attractiveness of Markham Vale both in terms of location and building fitted perfectly with our requirements.”
Daher Aerospace is a worldrenowned
aircraft manufacturer established in 1963, which also specialises in logistical and supply chain services. In 2019, it achieved more than £1 billion in turnover.
The news is being viewed as a huge success for Derbyshire’s reputation as a place where large businesses can succeed
Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Clean Growth and Regeneration Councillor Tony King said: “We are extremely delighted to welcome Daher Aerospace Limited to our family of businesses at Markham Vale.
“We’re thrilled they have chosen Markham Vale and have confidence in the Derbyshire economy and its potential for growth.
“After a very challenging year for businesses this announcement sends a strong signal to other investors that Derbyshire is a place that helps businesses to survive and thrive.” Markham Vale is proving popular as it continues to fill its spaces, with popular Chesterfield fish and chip restaurant Chester’s set to open its second branch there later this year.
