Bostwick set to miss visit of in-form MK
BURTON Albion central defender Michael Bostwick will be out of action again today.
The Brewers are at home to MK Dons (3pm), with Shrewsbury Town visiting the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday night.
Bostwick has missed the last two Brewers games due to a groin injury, while winger Danny Rowe also faces a spell on the sidelines after his early exit in Tuesday night’s away draw against Blackpool.
“He (Bostwick) won’t be ready for Saturday but maybe for Tuesday,” said Brewers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“Danny Rowe, who came off on Tuesday, had a scan and it’s not a tear in his hamstring.
“It’s a bit of a spasm, so he won’t be out for too long.”
The Brewers will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten run in League One, which stretched to seven matches after the 1-1 draw against the Seasiders.
“There has been a lot of matches in a short space of time and we want to play with a high intensity so it might be taking its toll physically,” added Hasselbaink.
“But I personally think it’s more mental than physical. The mental side of the game is the hardest part.
“The body is stronger than people think. It’s brains that need to be refreshed and kept sharp.
“The boys were disappointed they didn’t win on Tuesday and it’s good to see that but we were playing a very good team.
“We have to remember that we won those six games before Blackpool by working really hard and by putting ourselves in the position to win them.
“I don’t think we did that fully on Tuesday but we will have to do that again on Saturday.”
MK Dons have won their last two games and Hasselbaink knows his team will have to be on their guard.
“We can’t be as loose as on Tuesday as MK Dons are even better with the ball than Blackpool and will punish us,” said Hasselbaink.
“We have to be better with and without the ball. We still need points, so we have to turn up and do things right.”
