Roundabout facing 2 weeks of roadworks

NEARLY two weeks of major roadworks will get under way on a busy Derby roundabout today.

Derby City Council will be resurfacin­g the roundabout on Warwick Avenue, where it meets Stenson Road and Kenilworth Avenue.

Work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day until Thursday, April 1.

The roundabout will be resurfaced in two halves, with motorists unable to access it from each side of Stenson Road during working hours. The ring road will remain open, but traffic will be controlled using temporary traffic lights. The city council has warned motorists to expect delays.

Some other routes are also due to undergo roadworks this week, according to the city council.

London Road, Derby: Derby City Council roadworks run from tomorrow until Thursday, near the RTC Business Park and Zaytouna Primary School. Traffic control stop/go boards will be in operation while work is taking place.

Stoney Lane, Spondon: Roadworks are set to take place between Wednesday and Friday. Traffic control stop/go boards will be operation as work is carried out near the junction with Gravel Pit Lane.

East Midlands Airport terminal: Resurfacin­g work is taking place from 7am today until 5pm tomorrow. As a result, a number of Trent Barton bus routes will be using temporary stops.

Stuart Street, Derby: Major resurfacin­g work,is expected to take another seven weeks to complete on Friday, May 7. Work is being carried out between 8am and 5pm each day, with a diversion route in place and one-way traffic orders temporaril­y suspended. Repairs are also being carried out in parts of nearby Phoenix Street. Residents and businesses will be able to access their properties at all times. However, there may be a short delay at certain stages of constructi­on.
