Pub firm announces 46 of its outlets to reopen next month

- By CHRIS KING

THE Government’s road map is nearing its next step, meaning pubs will soon be able to open with outdoor service.

Marston’s is opening almost 70% of its pubs, including 46 in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas.

All of its public houses will be providing outdoor hospitality and only the pubs with suitable beer gardens are reopening in line with Government guidelines.

Food offers will vary across the sites, but Martston’s has announced that vegetarian and vegan options will be included at the heart of every menu.

It is also introducing an online ordering system, “Marston’s Tap”, following its successful rollout in some pubs last year.

This will allow customers to order their drinks from the table to reduce social interaction and minimise the spread of Covid-19.

Bookings can be made on the website, but Marston’s have said that walk-in customers will also be catered for.

Ralph Findlay, Marston’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted we can reopen many of our pubs, but we can’t wait until all our pubs can serve customers once again.

“The resilience of our pub managers and pub partners during this time has been admirable and we look forward to safely welcoming back guests and reuniting friends and family.”
