RAMS RATINGS

-

KELLE ROOS 6

Was asked to make only one save in the first half and it was a comfortable one. Made a good save to keep it at 1-0.

NATHAN BYRNE 6

Playing as a wing back but did not offer much as an attacking threat in the opening 45 minutes. One surge set up an opportunity for Colin Kazim-Richards, who dragged his shot well wide. More involved in the second half.

ANDRE WISDOM 6

He and the other Derby centrebacks were relatively untroubled in a dour contest.

TEDEN MENGI 6.5

Good, steady display by the young defender.

MATT CLARKE 7

The Rams’ best player, solid performance.

LEE BUCHANAN 5

Looked a little edgy early on but settled as the first half progressed. A tasty tussle with Stoke’s Tommy Smith. Put in a testing low cross just before the break but no Derby player was near it.

GRAEME SHINNIE 5

Unable to get a grip on things in midfield in the first half. Slight improvement in the second half.

JASON KNIGHT 5

Kept plugging away but never really gave Derby control in the middle of the pitch. Was beaten to the ball when Jacob Brown headed Stoke in front.

PATRICK ROBERTS 5

One or two jinking runs but more across the pitch than forward and so did not really trouble Stoke. Set up a shooting chance for Louie Sibley in the second half.

COLIN KAZIM-RICHARDS 5

Was a doubt going into the game because of a hip problem, did not appear to be moving freely and was kept quiet. Replaced just after the hour as Derby made three changes.

LOUIE SIBLEY 5

Not on the ball enough in the first half, so his involvement was limited, nor did he do enough when he did have the ball. He found better positions in the second half and saw one shot blocked and dragged another effort wide.
