Inevitable that police cuts lead to crime rise

-

HOW easy it is to mislead the human psyche. The police have been shown in a very bad light with their handling of the Sarah Everard vigil.

This crime is abhorrent and must be addressed in the proper way or there will be an explosion, not just of this particular crime, but all crime.

Australia cut their police force way back in the last century, which resulted in the same thing. They had to reinstate the force back to full capacity, and it worked.

This happened in 1992. This is worldwide knowledge, so this incompetent government of ours must have known.

Austerity has ruled for the last decade, which cut our police force by 21,000, and our NHS didn’t do too well either, which resulted in one of the biggest death rates.

It is impossible to eliminate crime altogether, but Australia’s dilemma proves that it can be improved to a proportion that will make us feel a lot safer.

Police have bodycams and instant communication; all we need now are the officers to start patrolling our streets once again.

Criminals will think hard before committing a crime, because they won’t know how far away that help can come from and how quickly.

If this Government is concerned about the safety of women, and indeed the safety of us all, including the police, then now is the time to act and stop their dithering.

In Australia they hired private security to do this, which started to eradicate the lawful powers of the police. I mention this because it shows it is possible to patrol our streets.

I blame this Government for a lot of the crime that is now going undetected.
