HE ALSO MADE THREATS TO HER FRIENDS

A DERBY man terrorised a woman and her young daughter after she refused to get back in a relationship with him.

Jordan Jackson bombarded the victim with calls and messages, breaching a restraining order put in place after he pulled a knife on her and assaulted her in her own home in a previous incident.

The 25-year-old also tried to contact the woman through a friend, who he threatened to rape when she refused to help him contact his expartner.

He appeared at Derby Crown Court on Thursday, March 18, having pleaded guilty to two charges of breaching the restraining order and one charge of sending threatening messages.

Jackson appeared in court over video link from HMP Nottingham, where he was serving a 28-day jail sentence for contempt of court after insulting a magistrate an earlier hearing.

Lucy Jones, prosecuting, said despite pleading guilty to the offences, Jackson had “told the magistrates words in the effect of ‘f*** off’”.

Jackson, of Hoylake Court, Mickleover, was given a three-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his ex-partner and jailed for 22 weeks in February 2020.

“They had been in a relationship together, the defendant had let himself into her address without her knowledge,” she said.

“He grabbed a knife and drew it across his throat in a threatening way. She ran into the bathroom to escape him. “He ran upstairs. He grabbed her, he punched her.”

He abided by the rules of this order after he was released until January this year when he contacted her again. chance giving up permanent jobs to take up agency positions with JCB but we knew it was a great place to work because we have friends

“She received a friend request on Facebook from a profile called ‘Jordan Hackson,’” Ms Jones said.

He then began to call her and left voice notes for her, and when she didn’t respond he sent a video of himself crying.

“She told him to leave her alone and she blocked his account,” Ms Jones said. “She was contacted by another profile but the profile picture was of the defendant’s brother’s dog, which she recognised.

“She questioned why he was getting in touch with her. He left voice notes threatening her and her daughter.

“She called him and he asked her to get back together with him. She refused.”

In total Jackson called her 72 times from his phone, 32 times from his mother’s phone number and left more than 30 missed calls on Facebook.

Recordings of some of the calls were played out in court, in which Jackson shouted and threatened the woman.

On one call he said he would “f ****** kill you both, you and your daughter” if he was locked up.

He then proceeded to begin messaging a friend of the victim in an effort to regain contact indirectly.

“When she refused the defendant would become abusive to her and threatened to beat her up,” Ms Jones said. shoulders now to get a JCB contract.

“There were five occasions the defendant called her to try and speak to her.

“On February 15 she received a call from WhatsApp from the defendant. She responded to him clearly saying ‘it’s not happening, stop calling me.’

He said he was going to go to his ex-partner’s address, but the friend said she wasn’t there with his expartner and was instead at her dad’s house.

“He was screaming down the phone at her,” Ms Jones said. “He said ‘I’m coming to your dad’s, I’m going to rape you and rape your family.’

“When he made this these threats to rape she felt scared for her family.”

Jackson has 16 previous convictions for offences including arson,

robbery, common assault and battery and possession of a bladed article. He also had a restraining order imposed on him from a different previous relationship.

Justin Ablott, mitigating for Jackson, said his client was aware of how serious things were.

“This is a young man who says a lot of things, some of which people disregard as being a young man who is frustrated,” he said.

“He’s a very foolish man and he knows he has to change his approach. He acknowledges the messages to begin with seem to be trying to get back with a lady who wants nothing to do with him and lashing out when she rebuffs him.

“He wants to assure the young lady that there will be no future contact from him.

“He’s very keen to tell your honour about his plans for the future. He has in the past resided with his grandmother in Chesterfield. His ambition is to start a roofing firm of his own.”

Jailing Jackson for 14 months and handing him a 10-year restraining order preventing him contacting both women, Recorder Paul Mann said “It must have been obvious to you from her response that she did not want to hear from you but you kept at it.

“You kept calling her, leaving voice notes and sent videos of you crying.

“You started leaving threats to her and her daughter. You were given this restraining order because you attacked her, ran at her with a knife, chaser her upstairs, grabbed her, punched her in the stomach several times and threatened to kill her.

“I’ve seen her victim impact statement and it’s clear from that that she was, at least until you were in custody, scared to go out with her daughter. She became depressed, frequently crying.

“She wants to get her life back on track, who can blame her?”
