Dozens of jobs for teachers and teaching assistants

-

DOZENS of teachers and teaching assistants are needed to fill job vacancies in Derbyshire.

More than 65 roles are currently available through Derby City Jobcentre to work in teaching after schools across the county reopened earlier this month.

Among those recruiting is Belperbased supply teaching agency Claire’s School Solutions, which has a range of opportunities for teachers and teaching assistants in Derby and the wider county.

For its teaching roles, the agency is looking for applicants with Qualified Teacher Status who have recent experience of working in primary schools.

It is happy to consider newly qualified teachers or those who have been in the profession for longer. It also has opportunities for recent retirees who are looking to provide day-to-day support to schools without longer-term commitment.

For the teaching assistant positions, the agency needs candidates with a Level 3 or higher teaching assistant qualification, such as an NVQ, CACHE or a degree in a child-related subject.

Claire’s School Solutions says supply work offers flexibility, an ability to choose when and where work takes place, helps build experience and relationships and may lead to permanent roles for those who want them.

People interested in the roles can call 01332 842424 or email admin@ weare-css.co.uk.

Those looking to begin a career as a teaching assistant can also take part in a new course being offered by training company Cidori.

The three-week programme starts on April 19 and will be run as a sectorbased work academy programme. It will lead to recognised NFE and ETCAL qualifications and provide guaranteed interviews for jobs with sponsors Now Education for those completing the course.

Interested candidates must be aged over 19, have achieved a Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent, been a UK resident for at least three years and in receipt of Jobseekers’ Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Income Support. The course will be delivered remotely and participants will need access to a computer.

More than 900 vacancies are currently available through Derby City Jobcentre, including over 775 full-time positions.
