Waste-saving milk delivery service brings eco-friendly products to Derbyshire doorsteps

-

THE Modern Milkman, which last year saved eight million plastic bottles from landfill – 106 tonnes – are now expanding to reduce plastic waste in Derbyshire.

The Modern Milkman connects communities with local produce and fresh groceries by offering deliveries from local farmers and independent suppliers direct to the doorstep.

The service goes beyond dairy rounds and delivers an extensive range of groceries in return and reuse packaging including soft drinks, tea and coffee and household products. They also offer fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, cereals, and baked goods sourced from sustainable suppliers, all plastic-free.

Inspired by David Attenborough’s Blue Planet, The Modern Milkman was founded with a mission to reduce plastic waste. As a purposedriven business, they are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and the communities they serve.

Simon Mellin, Founder and CEO of The Modern Milkman said “Plastic pollution is a problem that’s not going away. It has a hugely negative impact on the planet, reducing biodiversity in the oceans, contributing to climate change and even impacting human health.”

“Our aim is to help people do their bit and reduce their environmental impact by providing convenient and accessible solutions to reduce waste and make plastic-free choices.

“Each hub has a team of local milkmen and women delivering fresh produce up to 3 times a week, helping to reduce food waste created by over-stocking at home.”

Accounts can be easily managed online so that shopping sustainably is convenient and accessible to all. Find out more https://themodernmilkman.co.uk/
