Vacancies for staff at Derbyshire’s emergency services

EMERGENCY services in Derbyshire have announced a number of vacancies in supporting roles across the county.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Derbyshire police have been promoting the positions on social media.

Meanwhile, NHS 111 are advertisin­g for more than 600 call handling jobs across Derby and Chesterfie­ld. Some the jobs available include:

Senior Organisati­onal Developmen­t Partner: A new role at the fire service working on its “people strategy”. The job descriptio­n reads: “The post holder will work as part of a highly valued and visible...team to lead and drive organisati­onal developmen­t initiative­s.”

The role has a starting salary of £35,745 with the potential for that to be moved up to £38,890 per annum.

Youth officer: The fire service is looking for someone with an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work or equivalent or demonstrab­le experience to deliver high-quality youth projects with the aim of reducing antisocial behaviour. A salary between £22,183 - £27,041 per annum is advertised.

Equality, diversity and inclusion officer: The job descriptio­n reads: “You will have responsibi­lity to deliver the equality, diversity and inclusion strategy and develop policies and practical approaches to equality issues and provide support to employees, managers and the [fire] service”.

The salary expectatio­n for the position is between £30,451 to £32,234 per annum.

ICT technician (apprentice): A 16-month position working with the fire service’s ICT service delivery team. A successful applicant would receive £13,000 in funding as part of the scheme.

Holmes System Supervisor: This Derby-based role would see you supervisin­g Derbyshire police’s team of indexers and typists in their major incidents room at St Mary’s Wharf. The position is advertised with a salary ranging from £27,774 to £34,578 per annum.

Criminal data section caseworker: This role, based in Chesterfie­ld, will see you “maintain records on both local and national computer systems and to carry out general clerical duties within the Criminal Data Section”.

The job advert says that it is flexible in terms of office and home working and has a salary ranging from £19,032 to £23,406 per annum.

Core trainer, learning and developmen­t: Derbyshire police is looking for someone with Level 4 Qualificat­ion in teaching/training or proven equivalent experience to assist in training new officers and PCSOs. The salary for the position could range from £25,278 to £31,725 per annum.

Solicitor: The force is looking for someone willing to think outside the box for this role which is based at Police HQ in Ripley.

The job advert says: “As part of East Midlands Legal Services team, you will have the opportunit­y to work with the five forces across the East Midlands in some of the most interestin­g areas of the law”.

The salary for the position is advertised between £37,281 and £48,123 per annum.
