Lee given clearance to play for Mickleover

-

BERMUDAN midfielder Roger Lee has received international clearance to play for Mickleover in their Pitching-In Premier Division home game against Ashton United tomorrow (3pm).

He has been playing in Latvia and Estonia over the last couple of seasons, while he has also had spells with Loughborough Dynamo, Stafford Rangers, Corby Town and Basford United.

Lee is one of three recent Mickleover recruits.

Winger Andy Dales, who came through the ranks at Derby County, has returned to Mickleover, who he previously joined in 2014. And centre-back Joe Bateman – another former Rams youth player, released by the club in the summer – is also on board.

Dales and Bateman made their NPL debuts in the 3-0 away defeat by South Shields last Saturday, before Dales scored both goals in the midweek 2-0 home win against Gainsborough.

Matlock Town are at home to Hyde United tomorrow (3pm) in the same division and in high spirits after a 2-1 midweek win against Basford United as Ross Hannah struck twice for the hosts.

Midfielder Lirak Hasani has joined the Gladiators on a month’s youth loan from Doncaster Rovers, defender Jamie Sharman signed following his release by Chesterfield and attacking midfielder Oli Greaves, who was with Dover Athletic last season, completes a trio of new faces.

Alfreton Town will now play Brackley Town at home in the National League North tomorrow (3pm). The Reds’ scheduled fixture was postponed when Leamington reported positive Covid-19 tests in the squad.

Brackley were originally at home to Darlington but that game was also postponed because of positive Covid-19 tests, in the Quakers squad.
