Two soft play areas added to Moorways

-

THE new £42 million swimming complex at Moorways Sports Village will feature two soft play areas when it opens next year.

Derby City Council has revealed details of one of the family attractions children will be able to enjoy at the Moor Lane facility, which is set to open next spring.

The larger soft play area will have its own ninja run for friends to challenge each other, with other features including a four-lane astra slide, games room, sensory equipment, and toddler and baby area. The smaller soft play area will be installed within the café area and will include two levels with a ball pool, slides, agility set, and soft play shapes.

Councillor Ross McCristal, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to expand the offer of a soft play area beyond the planned café area. We want Moorways to provide a fantastic experience for entire families.”

Other attractions for families to enjoy at the facility will include fourstorey twin flumes, which were installed recently, racer slides, a wave rider slide and a wave generating wow-ball.

As well as the water park area, there will be a massive 50-metre 10-lane pool, and a 90-centimetredeep learner pool.

The main pool will be capable of moving to create three separate 25-metre pools and its depth can also be altered by raising and lowering the floor.

Derby City Council is currently recruiting for an external partner to operate Moorways Sports Village.
