Pet supplies firm is expanding with new superstore

-

A NEW pet supplies superstore is set to open its doors in Derby next month.

Trusty Pet Supplies, a family-run business which already has a shop in Mickleover, is expanding to open a second branch at Kingsway Industrial Estate which will be six times bigger.

Spanning 7,500 square feet, the outlet will feature more than 30 display freezers and two big walk-in freezers stocking the firm’s raw food products from 19 different suppliers.

Hannah Edmondson, director of Trusty Pet Supplies, said: “We are a three generation family-run business and we are very excited to be embarking on this next step of opening our biggest store to date.

“We have faced lots of challenges and delays over the last 10 months or so with Covid, Brexit delays and other challenges, but we couldn’t be happier that the new store is going to be opening next month.

“We are so excited to open the doors in October and welcome customers, old and new. The superstore is six times bigger than our current shop so we will be stocking many lines we haven’t before and catering to many more pets.

“We look forward to welcoming you to our opening party.”

An exact opening date for the store, expected to open in October, is set to be confirmed after work on the building’s flooring is completed at the end of this month.

The original store in Station Road, Mickleover, will continue to trade as normal following the opening of the second branch.

A number of job opportunities are available to work in the new Kingsway store, located off Kingsway Park Close and not far from Kingsway Retail Park.

Roles currently being recruited for include superstore manager, shop assistants/product advisors (both full-time and part-time), with applications soon opening for Saturday/weekend assistants.
