In July 2021 the school relocated from its temporary home at Midland House to its new permanent home on Great Northern Road. All staff were proud and excited to welcome students to their brand new state of the art premises when they returned to school in September.

Following the easing of government restrictions, Derby Cathedral School are delighted to be able to open their doors to prospective students and families of current Year 6s on Thursday 7th October between 6pm and 8pm where staff and students will be on hand to show all visitors what it means to be part of this new and exciting school community. Families will be treated to tours of the new site where they will get to visit subject areas and try out fun and engaging activities; having an opportunity to hear from the Headteacher - Mrs Brown; and even sample some of the delicious food in the school dining room.

About the School

The curriculum at Derby Cathedral School provides a high quality education that is an enriching experience for all. It has been carefully designed by subject specialists and shows a clear progression for learning to ensure prior skills and knowledge are built upon each year to prepare all students for post-16 - University or equivalent - and beyond.

Further activities enrich the curriculum, soon to include a wide variety of trips both home and abroad. The extensive extra-curricular programme provides opportunities that go beyond the academic curriculum in all subject areas. These opportunities increase students’ appreciation and understanding of society and culture.

Developing students’ spiritual awareness and knowledge of Christian values is a thread that is woven through all aspects of the Derby Cathedral School curriculum. Students are happy and confident individuals who treat others with respect. They have a clear understanding of ‘community’, are well prepared for their futures, and have a positive attitude towards life-long learning.

Derby Cathedral School is free to attend and open to students from across Derby. To find out more, visit www.derbycathedralschool.org.uk.
