TV PICKS OF THE WEEK
PAUL MCCARTNEY AT THE BBC Tonight, BBC2, 7.55pm
For many Beatles fans, the week’s biggest TV event is Peter Jackson’s three-part documentary Get Back, which comes to Disney on November 25 and will reportedly challenge the received wisdom that the making of Let It Be was a joyless experience for all involved.
However, for a reminder that there was life after the Fab Four, BBC2 is dedicating an evening to the solo career of Paul McCartney. It begins with this show, which rounds up fivedecades worth of clips of Britain’s most successful singer-songwriter, ranging from appearances on Top of the Pops to the Electric Proms and featuring songs including Band on the Run, Jet, Coming Up and Live and Let Die. There’s also backstage footage, interviews and a recent encounter with Bob Mortimer.
AN AUDIENCE WITH ADELE
Tomorrow, ITV, 7.30pm
There’s no doubt that Adele is one of the most successful British artists of all time – she’s sold a staggering 11.5
million albums in the UK alone, and her most recent single, Easy On Me, has also been breaking records. But just in case you needed further proof that she’s an all-round national treasure, ITV is giving her the Audience With treatment to coincide with the release of her hugely anticipated album, 30.
Adele will be belting out classic hits and new tracks in front of an audience that includes friends, family, fans, her own personal heroes and heroines, fellow musicians, actors, sportsmen, sportswomen and more.
GUY’S GARAGE Monday, Channel 4, 9pm
Guy Martin is back on the road, taking part in an idiosyncratic racing tour of Europe. His intention is to take some of our continental neighbours’ most iconic cars and turn them into unlikely racing machines – and from Citroen 2CV endurance events to Volvo rallying, Trabant road races to Piaggio Ape rallycross, Guy is aiming to beat them all at their own games.
THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF: THE FINAL
Tuesday, Channel 4, 8pm
After nine weeks of, well, not exactly heated competition, more like a bunch of mates having a good time, the final is here at last. Whoever wins will be a worthy champion – it’s usually the person who manages to keep the coolest under pressure.
Whatever happens, they’ll be keen to avoid soggy bottoms and the like as they tackle a carrot cake in the signature, a technical with a taste of Belgium and a showstopper inspired by the Mad Hatter’s tea party. Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood have the big decision to make.
ZARA MCDERMOTT: UNCOVERING RAPE CULTURE

problem may start at school. McDermott meets friends and family of a 12-year-old girl who took her own life after accusing a boy from her school of rape.
