Fans group told four bidders in the frame
DERBY County’s administrators told a Rams supporters group yesterday that there are four bidders in the frame to take the club over.
Monday marked exactly two months since the Rams entered administration and Quantuma were appointed as the club’s administrators.
Supporters group Black & White Together issued updates from a meeting they held with the club’s administrators yesterday.
“They have confirmed that there are four bidders in the running to acquire Derby County,” the group Tweeted.
“A preferred bidder should be identified in the next two weeks.
“On the playing side, contract discussions are ongoing with various plans in place, depending upon what a new owner might want to do.”
This tallies with the timetable Carl Jackson outlined to the Derby Telegraph during an in-depth interview ahead of Sunday’s win over Bournemouth.
“We have set out a clear timetable to all interested parties which they are working to,” he revealed.
“Our expectation is we will land on a preferred buyer within the next two or three weeks.
“I think we are looking at the back end of January before we get everything wrapped up but I think we will make a lot of progress between now and then.
“I think it will be very likely a preferred bidder will become known by then.”
TOSIN Adarabioyo and Denis Odoi both return to contention for inform Fulham as they prepare to welcome Derby County to Craven Cottage tonight.
Adarabioyo has completed a three-match suspension, while fullback Odoi also served a one-match ban on Saturday as the Fulham won 4-1 against Barnsley – a seventh straight League success for the Championship leaders.
Despite, Adarabioyo’s availability, Fulham boss Marco Silva has hinted that Michael Hector could keep his
place in central defence.
Meanwhile, Jay Stansfield will be out of action for a while after undergoing knee surgery.
DERBY County should travel to West London with renewed confidence tonight, according to Sky Sports pundit David Prutton.
But despite the Rams’ home win against high-flying Bournemouth on Sunday, Prutton is not expecting a repeat at Craven Cottage.
“Derby overcame their latest points deduction to record a brilliant win against Bournemouth on Sunday, doing Fulham a massive favour in the process,” Prutton said in his Sky Sports column.
“They are a squad packed with resilience under Wayne Rooney but it is hard to see any side coming away from Craven Cottage with anything right now.
“Quite frankly, it is hard to think of any reason right now to doubt Fulham’s chances of going on to win promotion. They can’t stop scoring, hardly ever concede, keep on winning and are top of the table. They could be on track for a recordbreaking campaign.”
Prutton has predicted a 3-1 defeat for Wayne Rooney’s side.
