Penalty points for drivers going too fast

THE following drivers had their licences endorsed with penalty points for speeding by Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court.

■ Sophie Peverley, 30, of Baker Street, Alvaston, was fined £220 and given three points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit in London Road, Derby, on April 25.

■ Lee Powles, 50, of Baker Avenue North, Sandiacre, was fined £500 and given six points for speeding at 78mph in a 50mph limit in Raynesway, Alvaston, on April 19.

■ Jacqueline Raesidez, 52, of Burcot Close, West Hallam, was fined £220 and given three points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Ladywood Road, Kirk Hallam, on April 20.

■ Lisa McCourt, 53, of Smedley Street, Matlock, was fined £660 and given six points for speeding at 52mph in a 30mph limit in Park Lane, Shirland, on April 19.

■ Jackie Meakin, 61, of Main Road, Eyam, was fined £166 and given four points for speeding at 44mph in a 30mph limit in Calver Road, Baslow, on April 15.

■ Nigel Morgan-Rainer, 68, of Steeple Grange, Wirksworth, was fined £40 and given three points for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph limit in Cromford Road, Wirksworth, on April 24.

■ Ross Clarke, 32, of Collingham Gardens, Derby, was fined £40 and given three points for speeding at 58mph in a 50mph limit on the A52, in Derby, on April 18.

■ Caroline Darlington, 49, of Kinglas Drive, Mickleover, was fined £66 and given three points for speeding at 60mph in a 50mph limit on the A52, in Derby, on April 20.

■ John Davies, 62, of Marcus Street, Derby, was fined £133 and given four points for speeding at 43mph in a 30mph limit in Burton Road, Repton, on April 13.

■ Nathan Davis, 37, of Rowan Close, Stenson Fields, was fined £220 and given three points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit in Barrow Lane, Swarkestone, on April 19.

■ Sophie Spendlove, 29, of Kingsley Road, Derby, was fined £220 and given three points for speeding at 61mph in a 50mph limit on the A52, in Derby, on April 19.

■ Shaakira Ahmed, 35, of Pendleside Way, Derby, was fined £440 and given four points for speeding at 45mph in a 30mph limit in London Road, Derby, on April 28.

■ Laura Babij, 35, of Ray Street, Heanor, was fined £146 and was ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and given three points for speeding at 38mph in a 30mph limit in Main Road, Smalley, on April 18.
