In-form striker told to remain hungry to score

- By ALFIE BURLEY

DANIEL Jebbison has scored three goals in Burton Albion’s previous two games and Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wants the striker to show he is hungry for more.

But Hasselbaink believes Jebbison will face a different challenge against League Two side Port Vale in today’s FA Cup second round clash at the Pirelli Stadium.

“You should never be satisfied, you should always be hungry to keep on scoring,” said Hasselbaink.

“That’s what he needs to do. Every game you start with a clean sheet, you start with a zero behind you for the strikers. You want to add to it all the time.

“It will be a different game for him, it will be more physical, and we’ll see how he will be able to cope with that.”

Hasselbaink has few injury concerns going into today’s game, while Deji Oshilaja returns from a threematch ban.

“It is a difficult decision to see if we have to change it,” Hasselbaink added. “Cameron (Borthwick-Jackson) has been playing well and offers us something different, while Lucas (Akins) has been playing well in the left wing-back position. It’s a tough decision.

“We have a full bill of health. Louis (Moult) is training with the group, he is looking better and better.

“Jacob Maddox is back in the group and has trained but it might be too early for him to be involved on Saturday.”

In the wins against Accrington

Stanley and Doncaster Rovers, the Brewers finally won while having the majority of possession for the first time in Hasselbaink’s second spell in charge.

And the manager is keen to see the improvement continue.

“It’s getting better, it’s getting step by step better,” said Hasselbaink.

“Small steps. We want to keep on improving with the ball, without the ball, with the press, without the press.

“We want to keep improving, we are never satisfied.”
