57 takeaways in Derbyshire with one-star hygiene ratings
INSPECTORS SAY MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS ARE NEEDED
MORE THAN 50 takeaway food outlets in Derbyshire have onestar food hygiene ratings.
A one-star rating means that majormajor improvements are needed, as ordered by Food Standards Agency inspectors.
Officers inspect three main categories - hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building and management of food safety.
A zero rating means that urgent improvements are needed, with councils having the power to temporarily close a food outlet if it poses a risk to public safety.
Derby has seen some changes to its list of outlets rated one out of five since we last reported on this in October, with there now being 23 – down from 27. They are: Subway - Normanton Road

Three restaurants were scored one star in September, with Food Spot, Subway, Pasta 4 U and Dunns River Diner all needing major improvements. Apna Curries and Fast Food received the same score on October 5.
Some, however, have improved since September, with the Palm Island Caribbean Restaurant and Takeaway jumping from one to five stars last month.
Wrapped Up, which has a private address, Gurdwara Sahib in St Thomas Road and the New Water Margin Cantonese Restaurant all went from one to four stars in their latest inspections.
Dixterz Peri Peri in East Street and Perfect Chicken in Abbey Street also both saw their scores improve to three out of five ratings, meaning they are generally compliant with food hygiene regulations.
