DERBYSHIRE COVID RULE-BREAKERS

NUMEROUS Derbyshire residents received hefty fines for illegal gatherings held during Covid-19 restrictio­ns around the same time as the alleged Government parties.

Court documents show individual­s were prosecuted in the days around the Downing Street parties claims.

On November 28, a day after one of the alleged parties - Adele Green, 31, of Hurst Rise, Matlock; Shona Jordan, 46, of Mettesford, Matlock and Paul Ryder, of Monyash Close, Staveley, attended an illegal gathering of four people in Lumsdale Crescent, Matlock. They were all made to pay £574.

On November 29, Paulina Barwinska, aged 30, of Crewe Street in Normanton, held an illegal birthday party for her young daughter. She was fined £220.

On December 6 – nine days after one of the alleged parties and four days before another – Javarny Ashley, aged 20, of Wardwick, Derby hosted an illegal party of more than 90 people. Ashley was fined £2,200.

On December 11, a day after the alleged education department party, dozens attended an illegal rave under the A38 underpass near Farmwell Lane, South Normanton. Attendees Chloe Etches, aged 27, of Portland Road, Hucknall; Nathaniel Broome, 26, of Balmoral Grove, Hucknall, were fined.

On December 13, Abdullahi Halilu, aged 20, of Gower Street, Derby, hosted an illegal party of more than 50 people. He was fined £2,200.

Later, on December 16 - six days after one Government party and two days before another - Kevin Dunn, 36, of Hillman Drive, Inkersall, was fined £1,760 for an illegal gathering of three friends at his property. Four days later on December 20, he did the same again - and was fined.
