Supermarkets open today for festive goods
FOR those in a last-minute rush for Christmas groceries or even presents fear not, as these supermarkets are open today to help with your final festive requirements.
All the big change stores will be closed tomorrow, Christmas Day, but most reopen on Boxing Day.
Please check store locators on the respective supermarket’s website for metro and express store opening times over Christmas.
ALDI
Open today until 6pm Christmas Day Closed Boxing Day Closed Monday, December 27: 8am - 10pm
ASDA
Sinfin and Derby stores will be until 7pm. Other stores in Derbyshire may vary, so it is best to use the branch finder tool.
All stores will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open from 10am - 4pm on Boxing Day.
ICELAND
The store in Derbion is open today until 5pm. It reopens at 8am on Monday.
LIDL
Stores across city and county are open today until 6pm. They will begin trading again from 8am on Monday.
MORRISONS

Open until 7pm today, reopening at 8am on Monday
TESCO
A total 370 large Tesco stores will be opening for 24 hours a day between Monday, December 20 and Friday, December 24. Customers are however advised to use the visit the Tesco store locator to check their local opening times.
WAITROSE
Most stores will be open today from 7am - 6pm.
Sainsbury’s, meanwhile, said back in September it would be giving its 170,000 staff a day off on Boxing Day this year, to thank staff for their “extraordinary efforts” over the past 18 months.
That applies to all supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations, as well as the Argos and Habitat outlets which can be found in some stores.
M&S too will be giving its 700,000-strong workforce - which includes all of its stores, food halls and staff at its distribution centre in Donington - the day off.
That, like for many stores, is a reward for their staff’s hard work throughout the pandemic, but the chain will operate increased opening hours in the run-up to Christmas.
