115mph on A50 hits motorist’s pocket hard

A CHADDESDEN motorist has been hit in the pocket for more than £750 and disqualifi­ed from driving after being caught speeding at 115mph.

Southern Derbyshire Magistrate­s’ Court heard how Martin Richmond was captured travelling at 45mph above the 70mph limit on the eastbound A50 near Derby on January 10, 2021.

The 34-year-old, of Lewiston Road, was fined £583 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £58 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 42 days.

A second Derbyshire driver was also recently dealt with by magistrate­s in the city for speeding at more than 100mph.

Craig Duffey, 35, of Chapel Street, Church Gresley, was fined £600 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £60 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points for speeding at 103mph in a 50mph limit on the A6 Loughborou­gh Road in Quorn, Leicesters­hire, on April 1, 2021.

The following motorists have also recently been convicted at the same court for speeding:

Robert Adlington, 56, of Chesterfie­ld Road, Rowsley, Matlock, was fined £66 and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Nottingham Road, Ripley, on February 16, 2021.

Michal Kruszynski, 31, of Valley Road, Chaddesden, was fined £68 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 38mph in a 30mph limit in Osmaston Road, Derby, on April 6, 2020. Jacky Rostron, 35, of Edgware Road, Mackworth, was fined £66 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at above the 30mph limit in Bishops Drive, Oakwood, on August 5, 2020.

Harry Grace, 24, of Woodville Road, Overseal, was fined £450 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £45 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with five penalty points for speeding at 51mph in a 30mph limit in Ling Road, Loughborou­gh, on December 16, 2020.

Richard Robinson, 46, of Osmaston

Park Road, Derby, was fined £211 and ordered to pay £110 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Osmaston Road, Derby, on November 11, 2020.

Luke Limb, 34, of Goodwood Crescent, Ilkeston, was fined £333 and ordered to pay £90 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for six months for speeding at 56mph in a 40mph limit in Lubbesthor­pe Way, Braunston, Leicester, on February 18, 2021.
