‘UFO’ COMES INTO VIEW WHILE ALFIE, 12, IS FILMING A SUNSET

A SCHOOLBOY was left stunned as he filmed a sunset and captured the moment an apparent UFO was seen in the skies above.

Alfie, 12, was bowled over as he caught the “fireball” flash across the sky, and has even contacted space experts at NASA to see if they can tell him what he saw that night in Stretton.

Alfie said he was “bored so decided to record the sunset” above his house in Upton Drive in the village, where he lives with his mum Jamie Heenan, 33, and younger brother Teddy, four.

He filmed the video on his iPhone looking towards the setting sun, when he saw the large roundish flaming object travelling through the sky at high speed.

The keen skateboarder shot the footage on Saturday, June 18, as the sun set over Burton at around 9pm.

The video shows what looks like a ball of fire coming into shot before quickly disappearing without a trace.

Alfie, who is a huge Stranger Things fan, is hoping he might have seen aliens, or at least something connected to the Upside Down alternate dimension from the cult sci-fi show, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Winona Ryder.

Alfie, who thinks there must be other populated planets out there, said: “It was just a one-off that I managed to get it on video. I was just really bored so decided to record the sunset as it was pretty and so that’s why I had my phone out looking at it.

“I straightaway ran downstairs to my mum to see if she knew what it was, and I was just chuckling along when she was watching it.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever done this, so it’s quite exciting. I’ve since asked a couple of friends what they think it might be and they said it might be a flare or something like that, but I think it could be a piece of a meteorite or something from space.” Alfie has sent the video he captured to NASA and says he is hoping to hear back that he has discovered aliens, saying “that would be pretty cool”.

His mum Jamie said: “It was a really beautiful sunset on Saturday and he came down and was saying how he thinks he’s caught some aliens. He then showed me his video and I was really shocked.

“It looked really cool, but also it was super interesting. I know he loves this sort of thing, so it’s great to see him having fun with what he enjoys.”
