Driver caught doing 110mph on the A38

A DERBY driver has been caught speeding at 110mph on the A38. Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court heard how Mark Burdis was snapped at 40mph over the 70mph limit on the dual carriageway near Ripley on July 11, 2021.

The 58-year-old, of Leaper Street, was fined £400 and was ordered to pay £110 costs, a £40 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for six months for the offence.

■■Paul Scott, 60, of Pilgrims Way, Stenson Fields, was fined £138 and was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending for speeding after being caught driving at 47mph in a 40mph limit in Lutterworth Road, Leicester, on May 15, 2021.

■■Anna Tomkivoca, 42, of South Road, South Normanton, was fined £238 and given six penalty points for speeding at 50mph in a 30mph limit in Alfreton Road, Pinxton, on December 10, 2021.

■■Jane Trotter, 62, of Oxford Street, Church Gresley, was fined £115 and given three penalty points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Burton Road, Midway, on August 31, 2021.

■■Callum Jones, 26, of Francis Street, Derby, was fined £80 and given four penalty points for speeding at 43mph in a 30mph limit in London Road, Derby, on July 5, 2021.

■■Aimi Dove, 39, of Knitters Road, South Normanton, was fined £66 and given three penalty points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit in Alfreton Road, Newton, on November 1, 2020.

■■Roger Levett, 58, of Yew Tree Close, Smalley, was fined £191 and given three penalty points for speeding at 48mph in a 40mph limit in Leeds, on February 21, 2020.

■■Sarah Shilton, 37, of Frampton Gardens, Heatherton Village, was fined £146 and given three penalty points for speeding at 57mph in a 50mph limit on the M1, near Breaston, on August 25, 2021.

■■Kenneth Slater, 38, of Ramblers Drive, Oakwood, was fined £220 and given three penalty points for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph limit in Bishops Drive, Oakwood, on September 5, 2021.

■■Aimee Smith, 37, of Park Road, Duffield, was fined £707 and given six penalty points for speeding at 53mph in a 30mph limit in Broadway, Duffield, on October 30, 2021.
