Allan, 42, victim of crash tragedy
TWO OTHER PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN THE INCIDENT
A MAN who died in a crash outside Rollerworld in Derby has been named by police.
Allan Reeve, 42, was killed in the incident in Mansfield Road in the evening of Saturday, June 18.
A 62-year-old man also remains in a critical condition in hospital following the crash which involved a Vauxhall Combo van, near Rollerworld.
A 34-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in the collision. There was a heavy police presence and the air ambulance attended the scene, with the road closed for several hours.
A third man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police say the 40-yearold was driving the van while the three injured people were passengers in the vehicle.
Floral tributes arranged in the shape of a heart, photographs and a Derby County shirt were left in memory of a Mr Reeve near the scene of the fatal accident. The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dozens of bunches of flowers decorate grassland beside the road, alongside messages in cards written by close friends and family members. They include a Father’s Day card which features a little boy’s drawing of him and his father Mr Reeve. It reads “luv you dad”, in a child’s hand.
Another message reads: “This hurts, knowing I’ll never see you again, emptiness I feel is unreal, and pain for your kids. We’ll all always make sure they’re good, and live life to make you proud watching over them.”
A friend wrote: “Fly high brother, will cherish the good times we had.”
One family’s card reads: “You were one of the best lads going. Top Chad lad and will never be forgotten. RIP mate.”
Another card reads: “Words will never describe the pain I feel for our boy not having you here. I know you will always be watching over them all. One thing I can promise is to do the best I can and will always remind him of the doting dad you were.”
One of the messages, accompanied by a group photo, reads: “Never a more noble man has walked this Earth! Rest easy brother”.
