‘Fantasy’ fans open first magical store and healing space

-

A LOCKDOWN business launched by entrepreneurial friends is taking a new step in its journey, with a store and healing space.

Angela Sandland and Katie Abey launched Happiness Enchanters during the first lockdown in 2020.

The pair, who live in south Wingfield and Boulton Moor respectively, started by making oracle cards to help people with their mental health and wellbeing during isolation.

Their light-hearted decks have been so successful they’re now stocked across the globe, as far as Singapore. Now the duo are opening their store and healing space in July.

The new space, called the room of

enchantment, is just off the High Street, next to Kate’s store, Punnydukes. The pair had been discussing getting a place for around six months, and feel having the stores next to each other is ideal.

“We’re not a shop, we’re more of a space, and people can also rent it out too. But we’ll do our own events there, like in the summer holidays, like make your own magical wand, aura spray, spell jar so anybody who’s into anything fantasy or witches and wizards, they can come and do some really cool activities.

“It’s like I’m living my childhood fantasy through my own business,” Angela said. The pair will be offering a number of sessions including cacao therapy, which they call chocomagic.

Other events include original crystal workshops, stone healing sessions and creative therapy groups aimed at people who want to tap into their creativity, but aren’t too keen on spirituality. Sessions will range in price from free events, up to reiki teaching, at approximately £100.

“We’re trying to make it accessible for everyone, we don’t want to scare anyone off, anyone can join in. The room’s like an enchanted forest, it will mostly be an open space – we’ve had an artist come in and paint it for us,” Angela said.

The store’s open day will take place on July 23, and Angela and Katie are on the lookout for budding musicians, looking to showcase their music, to come and play on at the event. People can follow Happiness Enchanters’ journey on their Instagram page, @ happinessenchanters.
