Beer festival returns for first time in two years with 90 brews to enjoy

-

A DERBYSHIRE beer festival is set to return to Belper for the first time in two years today.

The 11th annual Amber Valley beer and cider festival will take place today until Saturday at Belper Rugby Club, having moved from its previous location at Strutt’s School.

Drinkers can expect to find around 90 beers and ciders to enjoy, with breweries from near and far making an appearance, as well as a range of meals and snacks in the clubhouse.

Street food will also be available, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

The main festival will be held in a marquee, with a stage and dance floor, with music on the Friday and Saturday evenings, including Kelly’s Heroes and the Modskas, as well as northern soul and Motown disco, and tribute band Rollin’ Stoned.

Tickets are available for the evening sessions, and advance purchases are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. CAMRA members are admitted free on Thursday on showing a current membership card. They will also receive a concession on the other days in the form of a £3 beer token on Friday and a £5 token on Saturday on showing their ticket and current membership card.

There is on-site parking for blue badge holders, but free parking is available locally. Organisers are looking for volunteers to help set up, knock down, and aid with bar work.

Visitors are welcome to pop down between noon and 11 pm every day of the festival. Tickets range in price from £2 to £10 and can be purchased on the Amber Valley CAMRA website. If interested in helping out, contact staffing@ ambervalley.camra.org.uk
