PERVERT SAID THE VIDEOS WERE ‘LIVE PORNOGRAPHY’

A DERBY pervert secretly filmed a couple having sex for his own gratification, calling what he watched “live pornography”.

Derby Crown Court heard how Nirmal Pandey also kept videos and images of the female undressing, which he would watch as well for his sexual pleasure.

The 36-year-old, of Chaddesden, made the admissions to the police when they arrested and interviewed him about separate matters of indecently exposing himself to young girls in the street.

When detectives analysed his mobile phone, they found the hundreds of videos or images he had saved of the couple involved in acts of intimacy.

Stefan Fox, prosecuting, said police arrested Pandey, of Matlock Road, after reports were received that six girls had been indecently exposed to in the Chaddesden area over just two days in November last year.

Four of the incidents happened on November 23 in Wood Road, Berkshire Street, and twice in Hereford Road, while the final one took place again in Hereford Road the following day.

When he was interviewed, he made admissions about the other matter which triggered a new police investigation.

The prosecutor said Pandey managed to get hold of the password to a camera which had been set up in the couple’s home and was able to access it.

Mr Fox said: “Police examined his mobile phone and found 186 cropped videos and 818 images.

“They showed the couple involved in sexual intercourse and (the female) getting undressed.

“He said he would log on and watch them having sex and said this was categorised as ‘live pornography.’ He said he would take screen shots of her getting undressed and would (touch himself ) to the videos.

“He said he was able to use the app to move the camera around and get a better view.

“He said he was sorry and that he did not realise what he was doing was illegal.”

Pandey was handed a community order in December after pleading guilty to five counts of indecent exposure. In April of this year, he pleaded guilty to additional offences of voyeurism in relation to the couple.

On that occasion, magistrates remanded him into custody, meaning he has served the equivalent of a fivemonth prison sentence for the voyeurism charges.

The defendant sobbed over the link from HMP Nottingham, wiping tears from his eyes as Judge Shaun Smith QC told him he would be released from jail that afternoon.

Handing him a new 12-month community order, the judge said: “This is a very unusual set of circumstances.”

As well as the community order, Pandey was handed a five-year sexual harm prevention order. He will also be on the sex offenders’ register for five years.
