CATTON Park in South Derbyshire is set to host some of the biggest names in metal as thousands of fans descend on the venue for Bloodstock Festival 2022.

The event will see acts such as Behemoth, Mercyful Fate and Lamb Of God perform headline sets from August 11 to 15.

Following a year out as a result of Covid, the festival returned in 2021 with performances from Devin Townsend, Kreator, Judas Priest and many more. This year is set to be even more explosive with some of the hottest bands in heavy metal playing.

So let’s have a look at this year’s line-up and who not to miss.

This year’s Bloodstock will see Polish extreme black metal band Behemoth headline the main stage on Friday.

Topping the bill on Saturday is Danish 80s metal legends Mercyful Fate. American heavy metal heroes Lamb Of God take the Sunday headline slot, closing the festival. Also appearing on the main stage are Welsh metal icons Bury Tomorrow, horror metal band Gwar and English 70s rockers Killing Joke.

Appearing on the Sophie Lancaswithin ter stage are Dark Tranquility, Sleep Token, Malevolence, and NF Air. There will also be performances from up-and-coming acts Heriot, Avatar and Blood Youth.

Certain Death, The K **** (who scored a top five single last year with “Boris Johnson is a F ****** K***”), and Acid Throne will headline the Jagermeister stage. A number of heats took place across the UK as part of the Metal 2 The Masses competition for upcoming acts to perform on Bloodstock’s New Blood stage.

Leicester round winners Sulvain will perform on the Sunday of the event, with Torus headlining the stage. Other acts to perform on the New Blood stage include Fyresky,

Verminthrone, Tribe Of Ghosts, Impervium, Collapse The Sky, and Must Kill among others.
