Main route is due to close for resurfacing

-

A BUSY Derby road is being closed this week for four days of roadworks.

Radbourne Lane, in Mackworth, will be shut for resurfacing work from today until Thursday, if it is not delayed owing to the heatwave.

The route will be closed from its junction with the A52 Ashbourne Road to Aldersgate between 8am and 4pm each day. Aldersgate itself will also be resurfaced by Derby City Council’s in-house Streetpride team as part of the project.

A diversion route will be in place for affected motorists via Ashbourne Road, Brun Lane, the B5020, and Radbourne Lane and the same in the opposite direction. Some drivers will also be diverted via Ashbourne Road, then by circumnavigating Markeaton Island back onto Ashbourne Road, then Brun Lane, and the B5020, before reaching Radbourne Lane.

Some other city routes are also due to undergo roadworks this week, according to the Derby City

Council website and roadworks collaboration site one.network. Please note, all the roadwork notices were correct as of the time of publication, but it is possible some will be delayed owing to the heatwave.

Derby City Council’s three-week resurfacing project on Uttoxeter New Road is due to be completed later this week. The road will still be undergoing daytime closures between Uttoxeter Old Road and Drewry Court until Friday.

The well-used route will be closed on weekdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm. A diversion will be in place.

An overnight road closure is set to take place this evening on the A5111 Raynesway southbound only. The main road will be shut near the Acorn Way/Derby Road roundabout for highway maintenance.

A diversion route will be in place via Derby Road, A6005 Roundabout, A52 Brian Clough Way and the A5111 Raynesway. The closure will be enforced at 8pm this evening and is set to be lifted at 6am tomorrow.

Western Power Distribution will be carrying out electrical works near the former Dunkirk Tavern pub in King Alfred Street. A temporary parking bay suspension order will be in place from today until Wednesday.
