RAMS RATINGS

-

JOE WILDSMITH:

Did not have a shot to save in the first half. Much of his work was routine. 7/10

JASON KNIGHT:

Played as a forward last week and right-back this week before being moved up front. Hit a post with a terrific free-kick. 8/10

CURTIS DAVIES:

Produced a fine block to stop Maolida’s shot in the first half. Just reads the game so well. 7/10

JAMES CHESTER:

The former Aston Villa defender slotted in seamlessly in the heart of the defence and showcased why he was one of the club’s top targets. 7/10

HAYDON ROBERTS:

Can see why Brighton & Hove Albion rate him so highly. A crossfield pass of 60 yards drew a fine ovation from the fans in the first half. 8/10

NATHANIEL MENDEZ-LAING:

Rams fans are going to love watching the former Sheffield Wednesday winger. Scored a well-taken goal but his work-rate defensively was also impressive. Manager’s dream. 8/10

MAX BIRD:

His shot in the first half fizzed past the upright. Had a solid game. 8/10

CONOR HOURIHANE:

One moment in the first half stood out as he played a lovely pass in behind the full-back for MendezLaing. A Rolls-Royce of a midfielder and possesses a lovely left foot. 7/10

TOM BARKHUIZEN:

As against Bradford City last weekend, the former Preston North End attacker showed some real flashes of quality. Didn’t shirk his defensive responsibilities either. 7/10

JAMES COLLINS:

Loved the fact that he took umbrage at a tackle from Ivan Sunjic in the first half. Uses his body well to protect the ball. 7/10

DAVID MCGOLDRICK:

May not be blessed with lightning pace but his speed of thought more than makes up for it. Did beautifully for the goal. 8/10

SUBSTITUTES

SCOTT LOACH:

Replaced Wildsmith and was rarely called upon. 6/10

EIRAN CASHIN:

Came on as the left-sided centre-back and did well. 6/10

KWAKU ODUROH:

The former Manchester City defender, who signed on Thursday, looks a real prospect. 6/10

RICHARD STEARMAN:

Led by experience in the heart of the back four. 6/10

JACK STRETTON:

Looked lively when he came on and nearly scored. 6/10

LOUIE SIBLEY:

Demonstrated a couple of neat touches. Created a good chance for Stretton. 6/10
