- LEARN UK LTD DIVISION ONE

IT is as you were at the top of Derbyshire County League Division One after the top three, Cutthorpe, Rolleston and Dunstall all won.

With third-placed Dunstall 47 ahead of fourth-placed Morton Colliery it looks almost certain that the two promoted sides will come from the current top three.

Cutthorpe shot out Duffield for 104 at Eyes Meadow, Jacob Deavin-Baker taking 4-21, and although there was an alarm when they slipped to 27-3 in reply, Liam Sadler (43) and Hashen Ramanayake (46 not out) ensured a five-wicket win in 23.4 overs.

Rolleston lost only one wicket in putting up 265 at home to Clifton.

Louis Burrows was out for 43 but Gareth Marshall (92 not out) and Daryn Smit (106 not out) added 187 for the second wicket.

Clifton had pulled off a big chase the week before but this time they had no answer, being bowled out for 125, Smit adding 6-27 to hisday’s work.

Sawley chose to bat at the Deer Park and Dunstall rolled them over for 110, Alex Woolliscroft taking 4-29 and Tom Hill 3-21.

An opening stand of 73 between Woolliscroft (45) and Jamie Benstead (32 not out) ensured there would be no surprises and Dunstall won by six wickets in 21 overs.

Chesterfield thrashed bottom side Elvaston by the huge margin of 242 runs.

Harry Wilmott (89), Luke Westwell (78 not out) and Alex Hibbert (63) led the way in a total of 343-5.

Elvaston’s reply reached only 101, with Saad Sarwary taking 4-29.

Morton took over in fourth from Ilkeston Rutland, beating them by 16 runs in a low-scoring game.

Choosing to bat, they slipped to 21-4 but Matt Haw (34) and Paul Holmes (60) put on 102 for the fifth wicket before wickets started to tumble again and they were bowled out for 151, Franklin Henshaw and Oliver Flindall taking four wickets each.

Ilkeston could not muster a partnership to match the crucial one Morton had as they were bowled out for 135, Saad Khattak taking 5-29.

South Wingfield batted all the way down to put up 287-8 at home to Wirksworth & Middleton, Kyle Mitchell making 74 and Andrew Wilson 59 not out.

Wirksworth were well short, reaching 128 all out only after a late hit from number 10 Max Marshall, who belted four sixes in 32 not out from 18 balls, Wilson and Tony Palladino taking three wickets each.

Division Two leaders Belper Meadows marched on with a comfortable 49-run win away to Tutbury after scoring 232 in which Jamie Rowland’s 49 was the top score.

Tutbury fell away to 183 after reaching 101-2.

Quarndon are second after Atiq Bhatti (84) and Umayr Iqbal (86 not out) led them from 30-4 to 257-7 against Spondon seconds, who were bowled out for 198.
