GP surgery plans to expand to improve patient service

-

A FIRST-floor extension at a GP surgery, digital information markers for Darley Abbey area and a front extension to a city school are among around 30 planning applications received by Derby City Council.

The surgery extension is at the Park Medical practice in Maine Drive, Chaddesden, which is looking to add a first floor to a single storey part of the building, to bring it all up to first floor level.

The proposed digital markers will give information about the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, the Darley Abbey Conservation Area and properties and the allotments in New Road. Derbyshire County Council accepted a grant offer from the National Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England for a Great Place Scheme.

One of the projects within the scheme is the wayfinding Initiative and the installation of digital information markers, which will feature a QR code that will allow the public to freely access visual and written information relating to the history of the area.
