Bielik backed mates before move to Brum

-

LIAM Rosenior revealed how Krystian Bielik celebrated with Derby County’s players after their win over Oxford United and said the player is only leaving the Rams to pursue his World Cup dream.

The Poland international has sealed a loan switch to Championship side Birmingham City but was at Pride Park as Conor Hourihane’s goal sealed a 1-0 victory over Oxford United.

Bielik was in the dressing room before and after the game but will now head to the Blues as he looks to be on the plane for the World Cup in Qatar as part of the Poland squad.

Rosenior said he felt the former Arsenal man had been put under “unfair pressure” to be playing in the Championship after Poland’s head coach said he had to leave the club in order to enhance his chances.

Rams interim boss Rosenior said Bielik’s camaraderie had summed up the midfielder’s attitude and hopes he returns next season with Derby back in the Championship. “What I would like to say about Krystian – and what sums him up – he was here at the game celebrating with the players,” he said. “He is still a huge part of my plans. I felt Krystian was put under pressure because he has a dream like I have a dream of being a successful manager. “Every player’s dream is to play in the World Cup. “A little bit of unfair pressure has been put on him in terms of his career to play at least Championship level to be able to do that. “Fortunately, at the end of last season, I was able to plan in case a team came in and took Krystian. “But I wish him all the best. He is a fantastic player and we all know that

“It was a conscious decision and it is important I put it out there because it shows that even though Krystian has left the club, he understands how important it is to be a part of this.

“I was delighted. I finished the team talk and I turned around and Krystian was there wishing everyone the best.

“He’s not leaving the club because he doesn’t want to be here, he is leaving to follow his dream.

“We should appreciate that and give him the best chance to do that.

“It was one of the most pleasing aspects of the day to see Krystian in the dressing room because it’s not just the players on the pitch who have bought into this, it’s every member of staff and every player.

“I hope he can stay fit and realise his dream.

“The plan for me is for him to come back next season where we all want to be, which is in the Championship.”
