LEARN UK LTD DIVISION ONE

ROLLESTON are the new leaders of County League Division One, deposing long-time table-toppers Cutthorpe with an excellent six-wicket away win.

Cutthorpe chose to bat and Ben Kingham (80) and Hashen Ramanayake (71) put on 134 for the second wicket to put them in a strong position.

Rolleston hit back well, however, and only Jake Powell (37 not out) posted anything significant otherwise as Cutthorpe reached 248-7, with Alex Brown taking 3-48 and Liam Goode 2-48.

When the Rolleston reply reached 74-3, the chase was looking difficult but Tom Liversage (32) added 103 with Daryn Smit for the fourth wicket and the former Derbyshire player did the rest with the help of Richard Green, whose 27 not out included three sixes.

Smit closed on 101 not out from 113 balls, with 12 fours, and they reached the target with 2.2 overs to spare to go 15 points ahead at the top.

Dunstall kept themselves in touch with the top two with a huge 207-run win at home to Morton Colliery, Dan Welch’s knock of 106 from 60 balls, with eight fours and seven sixes, propelling them to 340-6.

Oliver Wallace (65), Ben Whitehouse (54) and Alec Mason, topping it off with 66 not out from 33 balls, with seven fours and four sixes, also made big contributions.

Morton had no answer once they had lost one wicket early and three more with the score on 52, all to Callum Brodrick as he took 4-43.

Tom Hill added 3-28 and Tyler Millington 2-10 as Morton were bowled out for 133 in 35.2 overs.

At the other end of the table, the bottom three all lost.

Sawley pulled themselves away from danger with a 122-run win at home to bottom club Elvaston after scoring 277-7, in which Jacon Taylor made 723 and Kieran Hopkins 50.

Rob Kettlewell and Luis Sutton took three wickets each for Elvaston but their reply only reached 155, with the top score of 52 from Lee Archer, while Muhammad Atif took 4-42.

Wirksworth & Middleton, having chosen to bat, put up a decent 262-7 at home to Ilkeston Rutland, largely thanks to 138 from 94 balls by Usamah Khan, who put in 188 for the first wicket with Uthum De Silva (44).

Ilkeston lost Dave Smit for one but Rob Green and Ishan Gangwani then put on 136 and when Green was out for 70, Gangwani knocked off the rest with Faisal Khan.

Gangwani finished on 119 not out and Khan on 57 not out.

David Hunt scored 70 and Alex Hibbert 67 not out as Chesterfield put up 319-8 away to Clifton, Atta Ur Rehman taking 4-48 and Craig Williamson 3-68.

Two early wickets put Clifton on the back foot and although Mehran Ibrahim scored 74, the game was gone by the time Rehman added 51 from 34 balls in a final total of 223 all out.
