A POPULAR Peak District town’s fish and chip shop is up for sale after four years of serving locals and travellers alike.

Catch 32, in Matlock Street, Bakewell, is up for sale despite being “thriving”, according to estate agents Veritas Business Sales.

With a weekly turnover of £5,500, the business is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to set up shop in the town and has an “excellent” capacity to expand due to the free space upstairs.

The business has had more than £100,000 of investment into the equipment and facilities which are included in the £139,996 asking price.

The business has a five-star rating on TripAdvisor and is run by just two part-time members of staff, with the business currently open just 24 hours a week. A spokesperson for Veritas Business Sales said: “All the equipment was purchased as new and some of the equipment is still within warranty. The equipment, along with fixtures & fittings, is included within the sale price which is a huge plus for any new purchaser as additional funds will not need to be spent for some time.”
