World-famous pottery will be going for a song
ONE of Derbyshire’s most famous brands will be hosting a three-day event over the Easter weekend.
Thousands of people are extended to attend the event at Denby Pottery Village from tomorrow until Easter Monday (excluding Sunday).
Alongside a plethora of activities, food and drink, and arts and crafts stalls, the brand will be holding a “huge” clearance sale, allowing shoppers to get their hands on the brand’s worldfamous pottery with savings of up to 75 per cent off.
There will be a succession of workshops taking place including talks on food and kitchenware, the history of the area as well as spring-themed craft sessions at the village’s craft studio. There will be a free seed potting experience for children at the Denby Garden Stall, as well as charity stalls, including Blood Bikes and Guide Dogs, across the three days and a Good Friday tombola hosted by the charity, Shelter.
Denby has also said that there will be “lots” of food and drink available, with the Bourne’s Bistro & Café and the Farm Shop Café also open.
There will be a hog roast from Greedy Pig Butchers, based at Allestree’s Park Farm Shopping Centre, a Bourne’s jacket potato stall and the popular Emma’s Cakes stall will also be available.
Denby Pottery Village is no stranger to family-fun days
. In September the village celebrated three decades since transforming into a visitor centre by holding a similar activity day and clearance sale.
The Denby Pottery Company was founded in Denby in 1809. The company had its bicentenary celebrations in 2009 and welcomed the Princess Royal. The Easter Extravaganza Weekend will take place on Good Friday, Saturday, March 30, and Monday, April 1, from 9am-5pm.
