“HOW OFTEN HAVE YOU SHOT A BEAUTIFUL SCENE BUT FELT SLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESULTS?”

- MATT BENNETT, EDITOR matthew.bennett@futurenet.com

From time to time on the magazine, we conduct surveys asking our readers what their favourite subjects for photography are. But we can make a pretty good educated guess that landscapes will put in a pretty irresistible bid for the number one slot.

Landscape photography tends to appear far simpler than it actually is, though. How often have you shot a beautiful scene but felt slightly disappointed with the results? We’ve all been there. That’s why, in this issue, pro landscape photographer Mark Bauer has looked at the key skills and elements that turn a decent shot into something that you’d proudly hang on your wall or enter into a competition. Turn p34 to begin reading his feature.

Also in this issue, Stu Williamson has put together his guide to creative nude photography. He explores the shooting and editing techniques involved in creating stunning images. Head over to p48 to read his advice.

Elsewhere, our Staff Writer Peter Fenech has been looking at how to develop your editing style. If you’re a serious enthusiast or semi-professional photographer looking to make a name for yourself, this is a vitally important element of the process. Turn to p62 to read it.

We’ve also got shooting tutorials, interviews with leading professionals, an in-depth career guide, product reviews and industry news to keep you abreast of the latest developments, and to help inform your future kit purchases.

We would still love to see your own images of course, so please upload them to our Facebook page at WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/DIGITALPHOTOGRAPHERUK.
