PERFORMANCE GOES VIRAL

A 10-year-old boy from the West Midlands went viral on social media after his performance at a bar on the Lincolnshire coast.

Alfie Poll, from West Bromwich, stunned the crowd when he took to the stage at Cheeky Blinders in Ingoldmells.

The young superstar, who was nine years old in the viral video, gave the performance of a lifetime on March 16 with a rendition of Lip Up Fatty by Bad Manners, which has racked up more than two million views. He even got up on a table and swung his shirt around as the crowd cheered him on and sang along.

Alfie’s dad, Dan, says he’s had to log out of all his social media accounts just to get some sleep after the video, taken by a customer in the bar named Maxine Billam, completely blew up.

Dan, a lorry driver, said: “It is quite a shock as he normally only gets a few thousand views.

“Alfie has always been a performer. He’ll sing anything and everything.” The family have a caravan down on the Lincolnshire coast and have travelled down regularly for a number of years.

Alfie auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2023 and is planning on going back this year to give it another go. Dan added: “We’re very proud of Alfie. We have another lad and two girls. His sister Emily sings too but is more shy and only sings when she wants to sing.

“Alfie will walk into a karaoke bar and say ‘I’ll have the mic.’ Everyone was cheering and shouting for him.

Every time we go in Cheeky Blinders he sings. He wants to be a performer.”

Cheeky Blinders on Roman Bank, Ingoldmells, is known as a ‘party venue’ which offers live music, drinks and shows the latest sport. Dan says he owes a lot to the bar’s owner Chris Shaw and manager Gaz Palmer, saying that Alfie “wouldn’t be where he is today” without their help.

Alfie celebrated his 10th birthday on Sunday, March 24 with a surprise party at Cheeky Blinders. The viral sensation has already been invited to this year’s Skegness Reggae & Ska Festival.
