Fayre boosts school funds
Mossneuk Primary managed get outside for their annual fayre for once – with the rain staying away.
The day was organised by the school’s parent teacher association and proved to be a roaring success.
Hazel McMichael, PTA chair, told the News:“The summer fayre is an event usually held indoors due to the wet weather of recent years but this time we were thrilled that the sun came out and we could enjoy being outside.
“We had 580 adults through the doors. That was our best turn out yet. Our profit from this fayre was a massive £3500.
“There were 20 stall holders selling anything from toys to ladies handbags.
“The PTA provided face painting, bouncy castle, tuck shop, ice lollies, raffles, Tombola, bric-a-brac, sponge the headmaster, Hook a Duck, needle in a haystack, a tea room, freshly 090616mossn_03 cooked burgers (sponsored by Morrisons) and a free craft workshop .
“This year we tried out a summer hampers raffle with items donated by the children. There were themed hampers such as‘indoors’or‘movie night’or‘chocolate’, which was very popular.
“We had the 7th EK Girls Brigade who played games too. We hold two fayres a year to raise funds for the PTA. Our Christmas Fayre, held in mid November, is just as popular .” 090616mossn_01 090616mossn_02 090616mossn_05 090616mossn_04
