Drama club kids star in gala parade

-

Strathaven Drama Club have been celebrating a successful year as they are set for a summer break.

The group recently rounded off their run of ‘Grease The Musical’ at the Scout and Guide Hall, and took their chance to join in the Gala Day festivities.

The audience joined in as the cast performed ‘Greased Lightning’, through to‘ We Go Together ’and even the stage managers were on their feet singing and dancing backstage.

The group kept the Grease theme going as they joined the parade in their costumes, as well as performing at the bandstand in Strathaven Park.

Drama club organiser Christine Crawford was delighted with their recent shows, which have set the club up nicely for the summer break.

“From start to finish the cast performed their socks off,” said Christine.

“Great experience for everyone and another night to remember.

“All the hard work paid off, making memories for all the family and our community.

“We then participated in the Strathaven Gala Parade. We came second in the walking parade, which we were over the moon with.

“We had some amazing help to make that happen. Then to top everything off we rocked up to the stage and performed Highlights from Grease.

“Let’s just say we’re now taking a long, well-earned summer break!”

The club will be starting back during the last week in August.

There are a few spaces in each class so visit www.strathavendramaclub.co.uk or call Christine on 07752686068.
