EK firm launch £1m crowdfundi­ng appeal

Staff from the planetariu­m A t e a m o f e nt r e p r e n e u r s from an East Kilbride-based business have launched a n a mb i t i o u s £ 1 mi l l i o n crowdfundi­ng drive in the UK and US.

Barvas, the latest product from computer software firm MindGenius, who are based in the Kelvin Industrial Estate, is set to launch commercial­ly this October.

Its founders are offering equity in return for investment, which will enable the business to expand sales in the UK and U.S and hire additional staff.

The new venture was founded by Ashley Marron, Derek Jack, Donald Maciver, and Jamie Rorrison.

Named after a picturesqu­e village on the Isle of Lewis that was once home to one of its founders, Barvas is an online project management platf or m t hat s upports al l stages of a project.

The minimum investment is £10 and other investment levels range from £150 up to £50,000.
