Taking it all in their stride

-

They were originally set to stride out in Kippford but transport difficulties resulted in a change of venue for Claremont Ramblers on their Sunday outing.

Moffat proved an equally popular stomping ground, so much so, even the clammy drizzly weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the happy hikers.

A circular seven-mile walk from and back into Moffat was enjoyed by the majority of the walkers, with a small number tweaking the undulating portion to suit their own requirements.

However this possibly may have been because there were two rather important sporting events that were uppermost in the members minds that day.

The morning coffee stop was enjoyed in the Moffat Mill and the social hour, at the end of the eventful day, afforded plenty of choice of hostelries in Moffat.

The clubs next outing is on Sunday July 24, with the destination being Victoria Bridge, Tyndrum.

The club nights have ceased for the summer and will restart again on Tuesday, August 23.

Visitors wishing to join the walks over the summer can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
