All set for Heritage tourney

East Kilbride Bowling Club will host The Heritage Cup next weekend – with over £1000 in prize money on offer.

The Heritage Cup is a Gents Triples tournament, now in its third year after replacing the DP Marshall tournament which had run for 25 years, and competitor­s from across the country will take part on Saturday.

The tournament will f e a t u r e many c l u b s f r o m c e nt r a l S c ot l a nd a nd one from England, including representa­tives from all East Kilbride clubs.

Prize money of £1200 will ensure keen competitio­n on t he day t hanks t o sponsor John Donnelly from Heritage Funeral Services.

East Kilbride Bowling Club secretary, Derek Masia, said: “Without John’s continued generosity the club and its members could not afford to run the competitio­n, so we are extremely grateful to The Heritage Funeral Company, who have served East Kilbride and surroundin­g areas for over 25 years.”

John Donnelly, director of Heritage Funeral Ser vices, said: “I’m delighted to be associated with this competitio­n, which is highly anticipate­d by all bowls club members and t he general public who attend on the day.

“It is a pleasure to put s o met h i n g b a c k i n t o t h e community with an event like this and I trust that everybody will enjoy themselves on the day.”

Tea, coffee and alcoholic drinks will be available t hroughout t he day and a raffle will also be held.

The action gets underway at 9.30am and should conclude around 6.30pm.

All members of the general public are invited to attend. Entry is free.
