Have your say on what matters
Chief Inspector Gillian Scott reviews the past week’s incidents of crime, operations and police initiatives in East Kilbride and Strathaven...
A reminder to the residents of East Kilbride and Strathaven that Police Scotland has launched its new online public consultation survey ‘Your View Counts’ which is now live.
The survey takes 15 minutes to complete and the public response to the survey will help to shape policing priorities within your area.
The aim of the survey is to allow the public to highlight to their local police officers what matters to them within their community.
The online portal, hosted on the Police Scotland website – www.scotland.police.uk/
‘Your View Counts’ will give the community of East Kilbride and Strathaven the opportunity to have their say at any time that is convenient to them, 24 hours a day for the next year.
Police Scotland wants to gather and understand views which reflect the needs of communities.
Local policing is at the heart of what we do and that’s why we’re committed to listening to the public – we want to provide a high standard of service which delivers effective policing, tailored to meeting local needs across the country.
Please take just 15 minutes of your time, to let us know what is important to you, at a time that’s convenient to you.
The responses to the consultation process will be continuously monitored and quarterly progress reports will be published on the Police Scotland website.
Last week your Safer Communities officers attended the Lanark implement sale.

Officers demonstrated the technology and gave general security advice to the local farmers of Lanark, Strathaven and surrounding areas.
Your local Safer Communities officer is working in partnership with the National Farmers ’Union to arrange a Rural Crime Awareness event in Glassford next month.
The full details will be confirmed in next week’s Chief Inspector’s column.
