“My dog Angus is such is a goodnatured dog,”said Ian.
“He has a great temperament and everyone who works with him takes to him – I can’t imagine him ever going through what these dogs are put through.
“I am delighted ourw MPs are standing up and taking notice and hopefully the debate will have a positive outcome.
“There also needs to be much tougher penalties for those involved in dog fighting.”
Ian and Angus have also taken part in several sponsored walks for the SSPCA’s rehoming centre in Hamilton.
Ms Cameron who called the debate said:“It was a great opportunity to set out the case to end this abhorrent, inhumane practise and call for harsher punishment for offenders.
“I will be continuing to call for action against those who cause harm to animals and give a voice to animals who need our protection.”
