YM find winning formula

-

With the holiday season in full swing East Kilbride YM manager Graeme Robertson had to integrate players from the Caledonian League team and the Scottish Amateur side to fulfil two friendly fixtures last week.

But he needn’t have worried as the players responded fantastically well to the challenge.

In midweek they came from 2-0 down at half time to defeat St. Mungo GG 7-2.

In second half Ross McDonagh and Tommy March both grabbed doubles, while Stewart Bovill, Greg Hannah and Chris McCaig also got their names on the scoresheet.

Following that impressive comeback, theYM composite produced the good again on Saturday afternoon.

They defeated Lowland League outfit BSC Glasgow 2-1, coming from behind once again in a pulsating match that raged from end to end for 90 minutes.

Anthony Penman and Dean Arroll were on target for YM.

Meanwhile,YMs Greater Glasgow side also had two fixtures, defeating FC Baillieston 7-0 in midweek with goals from Mike Carroll netting four goals, O’Donnell scoring twice and Chris McCaig hitting a solitary strike.

On Saturday, though, they lost 3-1 to EKFC Amateurs with Jason Kerr scoring.

This Saturday YM have two friendly fixtures in Ayrshire against Clark Drive and Stewarton United .
