Staff dig deep to help Maggie’s
SP Energy Networks’ local district team has been working hard to support Maggie’s Lanarkshire centre as part of their commitment to the local community.
The team has donated equipment for the garden, volunteered and raised money to support the centre’s incredible work of providing emotional and social support for people diagnosed with cancer.
A team of 15 staff also rolled up their sleeves and volunteered more than 100 hours to transform the garden around the centre to ensure people with cancer and their loved ones have a calm and pleasant visit to the support centre.
Through a series of fundraisers, including a golf day and raffles, SP Energy Networks staff collected donations for the charity.
Eddie Mulholland, district manager, said: “The staff in the Lanarkshire district depot have really enjoyed raising money for Maggie’s Lanarkshire and supporting this local charity.
“It’s an incredible local resource for people affected by cancer and we’re proud to do our bit to support the cause. Our team has also had a lot of fun getting their sleeves rolled up and transforming the Centre’s garden.”
Lorrie Forsyth, centre head at Maggie’s Lanarkshire, said: “We’d like to thank the team at SP Energy Networks for raising money for the charity – we really appreciate all the support we receive from the community in Lanarkshire. The money we raise stays within Lanarkshire and the more raised the more we can do to help local people affected by cancer.”
